Neuropsychological Testing
With neuropsychological testing, the questions of concern are regarding the relationship between one's brain and one's behavior. Such evaluations are helpful at determining whether cognitive, emotional, or behavioral changes have occurred as a direct result of an injury sustained (brain injury, central nervous system dysfunction, or degeneration from an autoimmune disease or other systemic disorder).

Neuropsychological tests look to evaluate "functioning" by observing and assessing individuals':
-
intelligence
-
executive functioning (such as planning, conceptualizing, and abstraction)
-
adaptive functioning (skills of daily living)
-
language
-
memory (short and long-term)
-
attention
-
motivation
It also identifies and addresses potential correlations between mood, emotions, perceptions, and personality.
